Group Dog Training Classes: Kenilworth Show grounds

Does your dog need a little help with basic manners? This class will build the life skills and teach you the basics of effective reinforcement so you can continue to get more of the behaviours you want.

This 6 week course is suited to dogs over 4months old and costs $150.

Wonder Pets Youth Program is for young people (10years+) who love animals and want to know more about how to train and work with animals, using gentle and effective methods. Perfect for budding zookeepers, veterinarians, dog or horse trainers and those who want truly wonderful relationships with their pets.

The course will introduce basic theory of using added reinforcement as well as fun practical exercises using the Wundabaa Farm’s resident sheep, miniature pigs, ponies, chickens and more. Students will also be encouraged to bring weekly videos of training with their pets at home to share with the class and receive feedback.

Course Objectives:

Learn how to use added reinforcement training safely and effectively with a variety of animals.
Learn to read basic body language from the animals, with a strong focus on dogs and horses.
Why stepping away from the punishment paradigm creates better behaviours and safer environments to work with animals.
Learn about the basic tenets of behavioural cause and effect.
Have fun and meet other animal lovers!

This class is suitable for young people 10years+ who have animal training experience.

Term 1 starts 25/01/23 Wednesdays at 3:30 for 1 hour and run for 7 weeks. Cost: $200 for the term

Wonder Pets Little Trainers Classes for ages 6+ years old.

Perfect for younger children that love animals, each week the children will be introduced to a different animal species, learn a little basic ethology and care as well as the principles of how to apply positive reinforcement to teach cute tricks or useful skills.

Training with positive reinforcement encourages a wholistic approach to viewing animals and behaviour with a focus on listening to animals communication and respecting boundaries.

The animals they will get to know are sheep, ponies, guinea pigs, miniature pigs, chickens, parrots and dogs.

Course Objectives:

Raise awareness of animal communication signals, which empowers children to make thoughtful and safe interactions with animals.
Introduction to modern training methods and low stress handling.
Encourage respect for all animals.
